Hi there!

The Destination Bride is an online blog, vendor directory and magazine. It’s also my passion project, driven by solving the frustrations I experienced when planning my own wedding in 2012:

  • I felt I couldn’t afford a ‘destination wedding’
  • I struggled to find wedding inspiration in magazines and blogs that reflected my budget
  • Finding local vendors that matched my budget and style was a challenge.

I hope the real weddings, engagements, vendors, places and all the other goodness contained within our little space on the Internet leaves you inspired, no matter your budget, to stay true to your style, vision, and to see small towns and unique destinations for all their potential and not what they’re ‘lacking’.

Small towns across Queensland are FULL of the most talented vendors whose products & services are goose-bump-inducing / heart-beat-skipping / mouth-watering in the best possible ways… and I want to help you find them!

And let’s start thinking about ‘DESTINATIONS’ differently. Oh the places you could go! Popular or populated doesn’t always make for the perfect setting and can often hurt your hip-pocket. The Destination Bride is here to show you that rural showgrounds, loved one’s backyards and deserted beaches can be just as magical.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love,

 Roxy

The Destination Bride is owned and run by Roxanne Spies.

Roxy lives on the Fraser Coast, Queensland, runs three small businesses with her husband Mark, and has worked in graphic design and marketing for almost ten years.

She has recently hit the big 3-0, is mum to a toddler, drinks too much coffee (related to the toddler perhaps?) and has been married for four years.  Roxy’s (slight) obsessions with floral prints/fabric, 90s music, fonts, photography and magazines are still going strong.
